Select the relevant identifier and compare the returned organisation with the legal name on the document being checked. The English registration guidance distinguishes private and public limited companies, foreign branches and other organisations. Those categories help determine whether the record represents the company itself or a locally registered presence of another entity.
Review annual accounts through their own register

Use the available annual-account record for the reporting period under review and keep it separate from corporate identity information. A filed account is not the same document as a tax return, and its publication should not be described as revealing every aspect of the business’s current finances.
