Identify the US state record in eCorp
Georgia’s Secretary of State maintains the eCorp business search for entities recorded in the US state. The interface accepts a business name, control number, registered agent or officer name. Choose the matching record by its number and jurisdiction before interpreting the status. The registry explicitly separates this information search from name availability, so an empty result is not a reservation or approval of a proposed company name.
Connect annual registrations with the entity history
Review the record and available filings to establish which names and addresses were reported at particular times. The Corporations Division offers online services for certificates and copies when a summary is insufficient. A foreign entity’s Georgia registration should be read alongside its formation jurisdiction, since local authority to operate and original incorporation answer different questions. Keep that distinction when requesting a certificate of existence for a transaction involving several states.
