Follow the current Texas business-service route
Texas introduced SOSPortal in September 2026 to replace SOSDirect and SOSUpload for business filings, searches and orders. Older instructions may therefore refer to a retired interface. Enter through the Secretary of State’s current business-services page and use the entity name or relevant identifier to locate the record you need.
Select the evidence rather than relying on a portal label
The official search and filing guidance explains services for entity information, imaged documents, copies and certificates. These corporate records serve a different purpose from tax-account information maintained elsewhere. Check the requested product and current access requirements, and preserve the entity identifier when comparing a Texas registration with a formation record from another state.
