A name match does not establish company ownership
Ghana's Office of the Registrar of Companies handles company information searches covering registered entities and their filed details. Start with the precise entity name and registration reference, then specify which information is needed. A name-availability result or listing of registered names cannot establish ownership by itself. Detailed records require the appropriate ORC request, with the scope of disclosure and the current access channel checked directly against the office's guidance.
Request evidence with a defined purpose
For a transaction, identify whether you need an information report or a certified copy of a particular filed document. Ghana's Companies Regulations describe search and certified-copy requests, while ORC publishes the associated service charges. Review the date and entity details on anything supplied, and distinguish reported officers from the people authorised for your proposed agreement. An incomplete online result is a reason to ask ORC for clarification, rather than infer that no registration exists.
