Use the company’s registration reference for an official search
Kenya's Business Registration Service maintains the Companies Registry and directs official searches through its eCitizen service. For a private limited company, the CR12 search is the relevant service described in BRS guidance. Supply the registered name or number and verify that the selected entity matches your counterparty. A business name reservation serves a different purpose, while a business-name registration should not be mistaken for incorporation of a separate limited company.
Check the report rather than only the application receipt
BRS explains that automated official searches depend on a company's verification status within its system. Follow the current instructions for identification and payment, then retain the generated report addressed to the applicant. Compare the recorded particulars with the company's documents and the capacity of the person signing for it. If the record needs verification or clarification, contact BRS through its official service instead of treating a failed automated request as proof of non-existence.
