Name availability and company information are different services
Fiji's Registrar of Companies provides an entity-name search and separate services for buying registered information. The name-search screen helps identify similar names, but the information needed for a transaction may require a purchased record. Compare the entity type as well as the name: a registered business name can belong to an individual, partnership or company. The party responsible for an agreement may therefore differ from the label used on a shopfront or website.
Use the Registrar’s route for records and clarification
The MyFiji service catalogue identifies the Buy Information function and distinguishes companies, foreign companies and business names. Select the matching record and retain the resulting document with its date and reference. Where older registration or re-registration issues affect the result, use the Registrar's published support route for clarification. A name displayed in a search list does not establish every aspect of the business's present status, ownership or authority to undertake a regulated activity.
