Authentication and translation solve separate problems
An apostille concerns the origin of an eligible public document under the applicable convention framework; it does not translate its contents or guarantee the company’s commercial standing. A certified translation addresses language and may itself have formal requirements. Ask the receiving authority which document, certification and language format it accepts before commissioning either service.
Follow the chain from issuer to destination
HCCH provides the apostille framework and competent-authority information, while the UK legalisation service explains the national application route for UK documents. Companies House supplies relevant certified corporate documents. Keep the original, certification, apostille and translation linked as one evidence package, and confirm whether the destination accepts an electronic version or requires a particular paper format.
