Capital figures need their original labels
A statement of share capital can describe the number of shares, nominal values, classes and amounts paid or unpaid. Those figures do not directly measure a company’s market value, bank balance or ability to meet liabilities. Keep the currency and reporting date visible, and distinguish a historical allotment from the current position shown by later filings.
Follow amendments in filing order
UK formation documents include capital information, and the Companies House forms collection identifies filings for subsequent changes. Confirmation-statement guidance provides another part of the reporting context. Read the sequence of relevant documents rather than adding every historical capital figure together; a reorganisation, cancellation or change of denomination can alter what a later total means.
