The contracting name deserves a separate check
A company’s legal name identifies the entity recorded by its registrar; a shop sign, domain or product label may use another name entirely. Compare the complete registered wording and legal suffix with the contracting party named in your documents. Where the business trades under several brands, request the legal entity responsible for the particular transaction.
Use documents to resolve naming ambiguity
Formation guidance explains how a UK company name is recorded at incorporation, and the Companies House search identifies the current entity. DATA INPI provides a corresponding starting point for French enterprise identity. If a shortened name appears on an invoice, reconcile it with the registry number and current legal name rather than treating the abbreviation as a separate company.
