Identify the institution behind the entry
A national company register normally operates under a particular legal framework, with responsibility assigned to a registrar, ministry, court service or specialised agency. Its geographical reach does not tell you which legal forms it covers. A country can maintain separate records for companies, charities, cooperatives and individual entrepreneurs, so begin with the legal entity rather than its trading brand.

France’s RNE data can be consulted through DATA INPI, while the United Kingdom publishes incorporated-company information through Companies House. Other jurisdictions distribute functions among several offices. The overseas registry directory is useful for finding an authority, but the authority’s own search and document instructions should determine what evidence you obtain and how you describe it.
