A status screen is not the official standing certificate
Delaware's free entity lookup returns identifying details such as the file number and formation date, but it includes both active and inactive entities. The Division of Corporations separately offers paid online status information and explicitly states that this does not generate an official Certificate of Good Standing. Begin by matching the exact entity and file number, then identify which evidence the recipient requires instead of presenting a browser printout as a certified document.
Submit a certificate request and confirm its delivery requirements
For an official certificate, use the Division's Document Filing and Certificate Request procedure and specify the required product. The upload service submits a request; it does not provide immediate retrieval of the finished certificate or automatically calculate the fee. Check charges, delivery and any expedition requirements in the official instructions. Retain the resulting certificate with its issue date, understanding that it addresses corporate standing rather than guaranteeing solvency, contractual performance or approval to conduct every regulated business.
