Find the entity before selecting its certificate
The BVI Financial Services Commission provides a public-search route for BVI Business Companies, limited partnerships and registered foreign companies. Use the entity number or legal name to select the correct record before requesting a product. The Registry describes search reports, public registers, Certificates of Good Standing and other entity certificates. These products answer different questions, so establish whether the recipient needs evidence of formation, current standing or a specific recorded transaction.
Request particular filings without assuming unrestricted ownership access
A search report can include transaction history identifying documents filed with the Registry, from which certified or uncertified copies may be requested. Follow the current public-search instructions and, where needed, the additional-document request procedure and fees. Beneficial-ownership information is handled under its own access requirements and should not be inferred from a basic company certificate. Keep the certificate or copy in its original supplied form and check the entity number and issue date before using it externally.
