Begin with the legal wording
A company-name search works best when you start with the name printed on a contract, invoice or incorporation document. Retain distinctive words while testing spelling variations and legal suffixes where the search tool allows them. A brand may be operated by several entities, so a familiar name alone is insufficient to establish which company is responsible.
Resolve the match before saving the record
Companies House accepts names and identifiers; its advanced search can narrow the result by additional fields. DATA INPI offers a separate route for French businesses. Compare the selected result’s number, address and legal form with your starting document, and record why that entry is the correct match rather than simply choosing the first similar name returned.
