Choose a current or historical view of the Australian company
ASIC provides basic company details without charge and offers more detailed information products for purchase. Match the company's legal name and ACN before selecting a current extract or a current-and-historical extract. A business-name record describes a different registration and should not be substituted for the company behind it. The historical option is useful when a change of name, officeholder or other recorded particular matters to the question you are investigating.
Check document availability and the fields actually disclosed
An extract summarises registry information, whereas a document search locates particular filings that may need separate purchase. Not all companies must lodge financial accounts, and a document marked unavailable may not yet have been processed or imaged. ASIC also states that officeholder addresses are not available in the company extract. Review the current product description before ordering and avoid promising a complete ownership or financial dossier from a standard extract alone.
